About the Role:
We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst (BA) to join our software development team responsible for building and supporting market-specific customizations to our core product lines. This role bridges the gap between business needs and technical execution, working closely with product management, engineering, and client-facing teams to define, document, and deliver tailored software solutions that meet unique market or customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with stakeholders across product, engineering, sales, professional services, and customer success teams to gather and clarify requirements for custom software solutions.
Analyze market-specific business processes and translate them into detailed technical specifications and user stories.
Partner with software architects and developers to ensure technical feasibility and accurate interpretation of business needs.
Own the creation and maintenance of functional specifications, process flows, and data mappings for customization projects.
Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and other Agile ceremonies to help prioritize and refine work.
Act as the product expert during the development lifecycle, helping resolve ambiguity and provide ongoing clarification to developers and QA.
Coordinate with QA teams to ensure thorough test coverage for custom functionality and validate that solutions meet business expectations.
Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) with internal or external stakeholders, facilitating feedback loops and issue resolution.
Help maintain alignment with broader product strategy while accommodating unique market demands.
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a technical or software development environment.
Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and backlog management.
Experience working with cross-functional teams on custom or client-specific software implementations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex requirements into actionable steps.
Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly document requirements and present findings.
Ability to understand data structures, APIs, and system integrations (not a developer role, but technically conversant).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with configurable platforms or product lines that support market-specific extensions or customizations.
Background in product management, solutions consulting, or technical pre-sales is a plus.
Familiarity with industry standards in the domain of [insert relevant industries here, e.g., healthcare, manufacturing, finance, etc.].
