We are looking for a proficient Senior Backend Developer to join our global, cross-functional Agile team. This individual will take lead in refining our EHS software product through efficient API development, API versioning, and robust quality assurance practices. The successful candidate will exhibit strong skills in observability and operational awareness, mentorship of team members, and ability to work seamlessly within multicultural, remote teams.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead backend development efforts with a focus on developing, enhancing, and versioning of dedicated APIs.

2. Implement and advocate for test-driven development and quality assurance strategies to ensure high-quality software deployment.

3. Foster a culture of observability and operational awareness in development processes, promoting understanding and optimization of system behaviour.

4. Contribute significantly to requirements engineering and solution proposal processes, employing your technical expertise and problem-solving skills.

5. Mentor and guide junior developers, nurturing their technical and soft skills, and cultivating a positive team environment.

6. Engage in software architecture discussions, reinforcing best practices in backend software design.

7. Work effectively with remote, Agile teams spread across different locations and time zones, demonstrating empathy and cultural awareness.

8. Drive continuous integration and improvement efforts within the team, encouraging innovative thinking and efficient practices.

9. Oversee and resolve backend-related issues, safeguarding the stability and functionality of our software products.

Qualifications:

1. Proven experience as a Senior Backend Developer or similar role.

2. Solid experience with backend technologies such as PHP, Symfony, SQL, and a strong grasp on API development and versioning.

3. Proficient in test-driven development and quality assurance methodologies.

4. Experience in fostering a culture of observability and operational awareness in development processes.

5. Sound understanding of Agile methodologies and continuous integration in software development.

6. Experience in mentoring and leading technical teams.

7. Excellent problem-solving skills with outstanding verbal and written communication capabilities.

8. High level of empathy and cultural awareness, with experience in working with diverse, global teams.

9. A keen learner with the ability to adapt in a rapidly evolving tech environment.
