About the Role:

AMCS is looking for a Senior Account Executive – Team Lead to drive net new business in Boston while providing day-to-day leadership and mentorship to a small pod of Account Executives. This is a true player-coach role: the majority of your time is spent running your own strategic sales cycles with mid-market and large organizations, while also supporting team execution, deal strategy, and pipeline discipline.

You will be accountable for your own individual bookings target while helping the team strengthen pipeline rigor, opportunity strategy, and consistent execution quarter over quarter.

This role suits a consultative, high-performing seller who has proven they can win complex, multi-stakeholder deals and is ready to expand their impact by mentoring peers and helping elevate team performance without stepping away from the deal work itself.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sales Execution

  • Personally own and close a reduced but meaningful net new logo quota within a defined territory or set of strategic accounts, modeling the behaviors expected of the team.

  • Run full-cycle, consultative sales engagements from prospecting through contract execution with mid-market and large organizations.

  • Build relationships with VP and C-level stakeholders, uncover strategic priorities, and align AMCS solutions to measurable business outcomes.

  • Lead sophisticated, multi-stakeholder sales cycles that showcase the value-selling approach the team is expected to replicate.

Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • Support the team’s net new bookings goals by promoting accurate forecasting, healthy pipeline coverage, and consistent opportunity execution across the pod.

  • Mentor and support Account Executives through regular deal reviews, peer coaching, and sharing proven approaches that raise team performance.

  • Help reinforce territory and account-planning discipline across the team, including opportunity qualification and pipeline hygiene in Salesforce.

  • Partner with Account Executives on complex deals, joining key customer calls when helpful to navigate stakeholders, strengthen strategy, and advance opportunities.

  • Maintain accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasts for your own business and contribute insight into the team pipeline and risk areas.

  • Partner with Marketing, Sales Engineering, and Business Development to build winning account strategies for your pipeline and support priority team opportunities.

  • Model company strategy and sales methodology in your own opportunities, share repeatable best practices with the team, and help refine approaches based on what is winning.

  • Promote a high-performance, accountable team culture by recognizing wins, encouraging collaboration, and helping keep the team engaged and motivated.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • 5-8+ years of quota-carrying software sales experience, with a proven track record selling complex SaaS, ERP, platform, or business application solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience mentoring, coaching, or informally leading sales peers, ideally within a team lead or player-coach environment.

  • Demonstrated success exceeding quota personally in a net new business acquisition role.

  • Experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and executive decision-makers.

  • Proven ability to prospect, develop, and close opportunities within mid-market and large organizations.

  • Track record of maintaining strong forecast discipline and pipeline rigor, with the ability to help reinforce those practices across a team.

  • Strong executive presence with the ability to engage and influence VP and C-level buyers directly, and to help peers do the same.

  • Excellent discovery, negotiation, value-selling, coaching, and closing skills.

  • Strong business acumen and ability to connect technical solutions to strategic business outcomes.

  • Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM systems, including forecasting and pipeline management tools.

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling skills — both with customers and with your team.

  • Must be based in the Greater Boston area and able to work in the office 2–3 days per week.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
