About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Software Developer to join our data and reporting team. In this full-time remote position, you will collaborate with product managers, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality reporting solutions to our customers across Australia and New Zealand. The ideal candidate will leverage strong relational database knowledge and Business Intelligence best practices to develop and serve reports that provide fit-for-purpose outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models

• Optimise data models and queries for performance and scalability

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand reporting requirements

• Implement complex DAX calculations to meet business analysis needs

• Develop and maintain SSAS Tabular and Multidimensional models

• Ensure data quality and integrity across all reporting solutions

• Document technical specifications and maintain solution documentation

• Participate in agile development practices and release management

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing reports and data models

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members

Required Technical Experience

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL, including performance tuning and optimization

• Solid senior-level knowledge of Power BI, including DAX, data modelling, and enterprise deployment

• Strong experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) Tabular and Multidimensional models

• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modelling

• Demonstrated expertise in DAX for complex calculations

Beneficial Experience

• Experience with Azure data services and cloud architecture

• Experience with PowerShell and automation

• Experience with DevOps practices - GIT and Azure DevOps

• Experience with UX and design utilizing the most up-to-date features

• 5+ years of experience in data analysis and Power BI

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• Relevant Microsoft certifications are advantageous
