Role Description

The IT Systems Engineer responsibilities include ensuring the stability and integrity of the operations of AMCS Groups business systems. They also play a key role in the planning, design, implementation and support of technology based projects across the AMCS Group. Additional core responsibilities include:

  • Ensure established enterprise standards are followed and enforced during implementations.

  • Ensures all project work aligns with core business requirements and budget constraints are adhered to at all times.

  • Perform complex troubleshooting to support L1 technicians as required.

  • Provide first- or second-level problem determination/ isolation and recovery support for core business systems.

  • Timely Communication off all IT issues and changes.

  • Work with management and AMCS enterprise partners to resolve complex business, computer system and data communication problems.

  • Perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.

  • Support the configuration, deployment and ongoing maintenance and patching of servers, routers and other network devices

  • Practices network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.

  • Plan and coordinate all hardware installations, changes and updates with AMCS Group support partners, vendors and users, adhering to the I.T. Change Control Process.

  • Support and deploy AMCS security framework for merging acquired companies into the AMCS network.

  • Work with management to ensure there is a seamless transition in the IT infrastructure when the company makes acquisitions.

Knowledge & Experience

  • 5+ year’s systems & networking administration. Sys Admin experience of Windows, Mac & Linux. Networking experience of Cisco & Fortinet firewalls and Cisco switches.

  • Experience of administrating Microsoft Office 365, Intune, Azure AD, DNS/DHCP.

  • Comfortable with prioritizing tasks in a high-pressure environment.

  • Ability to implement routing and switching configuration on Cisco, Fortinet, Sophos Devices

  • Design, deploy, monitor and troubleshoot LAN, WLAN & WAN using a variety of network equipment, software and protocols including layer2/3 switches, spanning tree, fiber, firewalls, routers, WAP, VLANs, etc.

  • Ability to program (ex. tasks automation, network automation, network monitoring)

  • Strong Knowledge of Network protocols (ex. routing, switching, client/server communications, TCP/IP, OSI, Server Hardening). Knowledge of Linux and Windows server technologies.

  • Experience with cloud solutions including identity management, Federation, ADFS, AD Connect, SAML.

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with the IT organization, Senior management, and business personnel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field and minimum 10+ years relevant experience preferred.

  • A Network certification would be beneficial.

  • An Azure or AWS cloud certification would be beneficial.
