At AMCS, our Platform Engineering team is developing the AMCS Dev Platform — a cutting-edge Internal Developer Platform (IDP) designed to empower 500+ software engineers across the company. The platform includes capabilities such as:

·         Control Plane with Kubernetes and Crossplane

·         Internal Developer Portal powered by Port.io

·         Observability using the Grafana LGTM stack

·         Azure for public cloud services

·         Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines

Role Overview

As a Platform Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining our Internal Developer Platform. You’ll collaborate closely with software engineering teams to create tools, infrastructure, and processes that enable fast, reliable, and secure code delivery.

Key Responsibilities

·         Develop and Enhance the IDP: Design, build, and maintain the AMCS Dev Platform to improve developer workflows and productivity.

·         CI/CD Excellence: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline software development and deployment processes.

·         Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design and implement infrastructure solutions using tools like Terraform and Kubernetes.

·         Value Stream Optimization: Identify and implement automation and process improvements to enhance the value stream for developers.

·         DevOps Advocacy: Partner with developers and stakeholders to drive the adoption of DevOps practices, improving lead times, system reliability, and quality.

·         Continuous Testing: Create and manage automation pipelines that support continuous testing and quality improvements.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a collaborative and innovative engineer with a passion for building developer-centric solutions. Key qualifications include:

Required Skills and Experience:

·         Hands-on experience with:

o   Kubernetes for orchestration

o   Terraform for infrastructure as code

o   Azure DevOps Pipelines (YAML)

o   Docker for containerization

·         Strong understanding of cloud concepts and hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including services like AKS, Virtual Networks, Azure AD, and Load Balancers.

·         Proficiency in scripting or programming languages like Go, PowerShell, or similar.

·         Experience with container-based architectures and deployments.

Bonus Skills:

·         Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, Loki, and Grafana.

·         Experience integrating developer portals, such as Port.io.

·         Knowledge of GitOps practices.

·         Certifications in Azure or Kubernetes are a plus.
