As a member of the Customer Education and Product Training team, the Senior Instructional Designer will have the following responsibilities:


·         Determine how best to educate our customers, partners, and employees in the use of the AMCS platform in a way that aligns with the product roadmap, customer needs, and compliance with best practices

·         Produce End User, Super User, and Professional training on AMCS Platform for the Scrap Recycling or Metals Industry, and other lines of business as required

·         Research and translate technical product information into plain English for non-technical users

·         Conduct training needs analysis, produce curriculum plans, apply instructional design principles, and produce training and elearning content

·         Establish relationships with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop curriculum specifications, gather course content, and develop materials

·         Manage and deliver on end-to-end planning, design, and development of engaging learning activities and compelling technical course content across multiple products and at a variety of expertise levels and roles that enhances retention and transfer of learning for delivery via instructor-led, virtual, eLearning, job aids, instructional handbooks, and recorded formats

·         Produce software simulations and other practice activities for learners

·         Apply best in class instructional design strategies based on a deep understanding of adult learning theories

·         Review feedback and refine course materials to support instructor and learner needs.

·         Provide train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts (SMEs)

·         Contribute to certification exam materials, including scenarios, multiple-choice, and other formats for use in testing AMCS platform knowledge

·         Oversee the work of more junior members of the team, providing guidance, and influencing team members through discussion and collaboration

·         Create and update curricula to be delivered in multiple modalities including online, instructor-led, and virtual instructor-led training

·         Manage participant and trainer materials

·         Manage the localisation of training materials as required

·         Ensure course materials meet our quality standards and align with writing and style guidelines

·         Actively encourage continuous improvement, and proactively identify process improvements for training production and delivery

·         Perform administrative tasks on Skilljar or other LMS as required


Skills required:

·         2+ yrs. domain expertise in one or more of the following: ERP, Media, or Cloud Technology

·         Technical degree (e.g., Computer Science)

·         4+ years’ experience designing and developing instructional materials for technical content, including instructor-led materials, online/e-learning modules, job aids, online tutorials, knowledge assessments, and other training materials

·         Demonstrated working knowledge of eLearning development tools such as Articulate Storyline/Rise, Captivate, Camtasia, Vyond, Skilljar LMS (or similar), virtual instructor-led training tools, and social learning tools

·         Ability to apply adult learning principles and incorporate this into curriculum design and development

·         Demonstrated ability to assess training effectiveness and ROI to stakeholders and leaders

·         Proven experience collaborating with global stakeholders, SMEs, front-line managers and front-line employees

·         Ability to edit content for the purpose of knowledge transfer and skill development; this includes skill in collaborating with subject matter experts and managers to help write and develop technical content

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·         Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
